Goldfish are quite smart

OK . . . here's the goldfish story . . . My 2 eldest daughters love to bring pets home "Please Mum, why can't we have a giraffe?" well of course they didn't ask for that, ha ha ha, but the last pets we had were 2 male mice which progressed into the backyard then filled with about 30 baby mice. Long story but anyway, now they've settle for goldfish. Sam has 3 and Chrystelle has 2. We have 2 separate fish tanks . . . go figure . . . anyway, due to the hot weather we've been having here in Australia, I told the girls to bring their tanks downstairs as it gets quite hot upstairs and we didn't want 'boiled fish' now did we, lol, so down they came, in the kitchen, hogging my bench space. My computer is right next to the bench where the fish are and I thought one day that perhaps one of the fish may jump out and land in my bag of papers here (which I haven't sorted out yet). I have a habit of always looking at the fish and making sure there are 3 in one tank and 2 in the other. Well . . . about 2 weeks ago, I'd just put my son to bed and came into the kitchen and noticed the fish were hanging around the end corner and digging into the stones. I thought that was bizarre, "what on earth could they be doing?" I thought they were killing one of the fish and trying to bury it in the stones before I would see, but how ridiculous is that!? lol. I then realised there were only 2 fish in Sam's tank. I checked every side and above to see if there were 3. (hard to tell sometimes as the glass can reflect their image and as they swim, it gets a little confusing, lol). As I stood gazing at the tank with my mouth open wondering where on earth the other goldfish went to, I had that awful feeling that it may have taken a nose dive right into my bag of papers, so I slowly peered in the bag and yep, sure enough, there it was, upside down fighting for dear life. I thought, great, what do I do now? If I touch that fish I will have a heart attack (a bit like moths with me also, lol). It had landed on an envelope which had all my stamps and stuff in it that I use for eBay, so I quickly grabbed a tablespoon and somehow scooped it up and quickly plonked it back into the tank. The poor thing just sank to the bottom and I watched it telling him "You can do it, come on" (lol). I threw practically the whole container of fish food in there (no, not that much) and within a few minutes, it was back swimming around hogging into the fish food like nothing had ever happend. YIPPEE! I had a smile from ear to ear. The other 2 fish were 'snuggling up' to that fish, I'm not kidding. I had told the girls what happened and they were shocked. Sam said "that's suicide". I had to laugh. Sam came down later and said "Mum, look at all that food in the tank, how much did you give them?" I said "I felt sorry for it", lol. Anyway, I realised later on that those 2 fish knew that the other fish had 'thrown itself' out of the water and was trying to find it as they were in the exact spot where the fish had fallen. I didn't think that fish were that smart and I thought they had a short term memory????? Also, every morning and pretty much all day, when I enter that kitchen, they come to the front corner and watch me and wait for me to feed them. I'm not kidding. They keep watching me until I give them something, so they remember where I feed them also. You can see in one of the photos how 2 of them are staring right at me. The photos aren't the best quality and I tried to sharpen them a little. I couldn't use a flash due to the glass and I'd probably give them a heart attack and they'd jump out and land on my head, then I would have the heart attack. lol. I have half covered the top of the tank as I don't trust 'Houdini' and I'm hoping we can make some sort of lid with netting or fly screen so this won't happen again. That fish was lucky I walked into the kitchen when I did. I don't want to see that again. I always dreaded that one of them would fall into my bag and I'd find it months later all shrivelled up or something, gross, lol. Hope you got a laugh anyway :-)
PS: Am I supposed to put this on another topic (blog) derr, please tell me.

Fairies Template

Gosh, evenings are so tiring for me with blogging, I really should do this in the mornings but I'm afraid my alarm (mobile phone) doesn't co-operate very well or I seem to turn the blasted thing off in my sleep, and throw it to the end of my bed, therefore continuing (how do u spell that??? derr!) my slumber until my 'back-up' alarm wakes me and there's no ignoring that (my Renee, lol) although I try at times, besides, she's too heavy to throw to the end of my bed, lol.
OK, as I promised yesterday, here I have included a piece of my work that I sell on eBay and OZtion (although I've been slack with OZtion lately, tst, tst). I design listing templates . . . you know . . . the pretty borders that decorate the description in selling items on eBay??!! Well, that's what I've been doing for the past year. There is so much to learn with html although rumours have it that it's 'kid's stuff' but I'm still racking my brain with it all, lol. I usually photograph my subjects first and somehow incorporate them into a creative design. I produce many backgrounds also which I hope to eventually sell on a cd also. With this Fairies template (only top part is showing), you will notice my subject is my sweet Renee (my profile pic). The costume she's wearing is from a showbag I bought here at the Royal Melbourne Show. It took her awhile (about 2 weeks) to even attempt to wear it but my Samantha quickly caught this moment on camera, phew. Now the costume is back in the wardrobe where she wants it, lol, strange child, ha ha, anyway . . . As you can see, the bubbles photo I took while my 3 younger children were in the backyard playing with their bubble machines (that we also bought from The Show, quite an expensive day, lol). Took ages to capture the perfect photo but eventually got one good enough to use. You may click image and then right-click and 'Set as Background' for a 1024 x 768 Wallpaper. It may take awhile to go 'Back' as it is a large file (let me know if you'd like it smaller or larger) I incorporated both images, changed colours and added effects to achieve the template result. The cursor has a her little fairy face with wings. You can see it in the template image above in the right-hand corner of the description. I have written 5 step-by-step Tutorial eBooks on how to upload the templates, how to reduce image sizes and how to upload your photos onto a hosting site. With eBay's new digital download policies, all digital items must be posted on a cd (grrrrrr!) Here you can see what the cd will look like. I also add many eBooks and other cool stuff on the cd so buyers will feel they are getting more value for money. I really enjoy printing the labels on the cd although my printer only works when it feels like it. If I don't use it everyday, the ink must dry-up a little or the jets get blocked and then I have to clean the darn thing, soooo annoying . . . like I have the time too . . . like! (I've been hanging around teenagers too long me thinks, lol).
Well folks, that's today's exciting blog from me . . . cough, cough. Please take a look at my website link or click on the heading 'Fairies Template' and it will take you to all my selling templates and you can have a better full view of all the templates and there's glitter stuff too. This Fairies template comes with silver glitter and one in non-glitter (for those that don't like the 'Las Vegas' look, lol).
I must tell you the story about my daughters and their goldfish hopefully tomorrow . . . seems they are smarter than we think (the goldfish that is, not my daughters . . . well I mean yeah, they're smart too but, oh shuttup . . . lol) I have much more to show you all. Please leave me a comment. I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions. My poor friend Dawn (Harmony Quest) is trying to comment all the time and I think she's getting exhausted, lol. Hi Gorgeous :-)
Cheers from Downunder, Jules :-)
oh, I almost forgot, feel free to use any of these images for whatever but please don't declare them as your own or sell them as individuals. I would love to see what you can create with them too please. Ok, Ok, I'm going. Wow! I did go on and on in this blog :-0

My Profile Photo

I'd like to explain the origin of my profile photo. Well, obviously it's not me, lol, but my cute little almost 4yr old daughter Renee, who was 2yrs old at the time. She was playing on the trampoline in our backyard with her older brother Tristen. I took a few photos of them and captured some fine moments. This was one of them. The innocence and joy from simply jumping and having fun on the trampoline. You can almost hear her sweet little giggle, lol.

Here also is a photo of my 16yr old daughter Chrystelle, jumping and posing in mid-air taken by my other daughter 13yr old at the time, Samantha (not pictured here). Hmm, confusing??? I have 3 daughters and 2 sons. This photo was not manipulated in any way. You can see the shadow of her on the back fence (please excuse the neighbour's ugly sheds, lol, don't tell him I said that, lol again). Yeah, I'm big on 'lol'. I just loved Renee's photo and practically use it for all my user avatars. (These photos seem to be
'plonked' all over the
place, lol).
Please visit again as I will hopefully tomorrow show you some of my work.
Until then, take care and God bless.
Cheers, Jules :-)

Got any ideas?

Well here I am again, writing my 2nd blog, still haven't a clue, lol. Anyway, just wanted to say hi and thought I'd add a funny image today. This is how I feel sometimes, lol. I found this on the net awhile ago in my travels.

The smell of smoke is pretty strong in Melbourne, Victoria today and my 16yr old has decided she's going there with some friends to check out the shops. I'm not too keen on the idea but try stopping a 16yr old, lol.

Hope you all have a super day and chat soon.

Has anyone got any ideas of what 'freebies' people would like to have? Perhaps Scrapbooking images? Background images?
